. your question goes to mr. murphy. >> we have seen different numbers on what the paul ryan plan would do in the fact to increase costs to seniors, anywhere from $6,350 to about $200 a month. what kind of number can we look at and say this is what a cut will look like under this plan because of a large area of the budget that needs to be looked at? >> that is the kaiser family foundation study. under the ryan plan, 60% of seniors will face cost increases. this is something that needs to be addressed. under their plan, we end medicare as we know it. we need to reach across the aisle and ensure that medicare is there for generations to come. i was talking to seniors and you could see the fear in their eyes, worrying that medicare will be taken from them. we cannot let it happen. we need real solutions. under the affordable care act, they found inefficiencies and they have taken back away from insurance company executives, from the pharmaceuticals, and given it back to seniors, this is what we need to do to bring down the long term cost curve that is driving our costs through the roof. >> we

saying people like congressman paul ryan who has been a deficit hawk and campaigned on being a deficit hawk on the romney/ryan taicket do you think he would derail a grand bargain to have a platform to run on? >> what i would say, you have a lot of folks in the gop, at the presidential 2016 level, their political identity has been formed around their argument that we need to bring this deficit down quickly. if we get a deficit grand bargain into place, note that paul ryan voted against simpson/bowsimpson simpson/bowles, if we get that in place, suddenly that argument is off the table. so, it's not going to be all that easy for some of these people to say, okay, we're finished here. i think it's a mistake to accuse politicians of having too much cynicism. lot of people painted themselves into a corner, an identity of being very, very pure conservative deficit hawks. it's going to be hard for them to let that go. >> speaker boehner said over the weekend, he doesn't want to box himself in, do you feel confident that he's going to come to the table and he'll be workable on a situation? >>

and a presidency littered with broken promises. >> reporter: romney's running mate, paul ryan, who's largely stayed out of the spotlight in the final days of the campaign, has started to ratchet up the rhetoric. on a conference call with religious conservatives, ryan warned the president is leading the nation down a path that grows government, restricts freedom and liberty and compromises those values that made us such a great and exceptional nation. a campaign spokesman said ryan was talking about religious liberty and obama care, topics he has mentioned frequently during the campaign. and there is no rest for this campaign. mitt romney will wrap up his night tonight where his campaign began, in new hampshire, at an event where kid rock will be performing. then he gets up in the morning with his wife, ann, and goes to vote near his home in massachusetts. then it's off to those election day stops in ohio and pennsylvania. i talked to a senior romney adviser about those stops. they will not be big campaign rallies. he's going to be thanking his supporters and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to
